How to avoid damaging the wall when installing decorative paintings?

2026-07-29 17:42:05

To prevent wall damage during decorative painting installation, prioritize low-damage accessories such as adhesive tape, traceless hooks and picture hanging rails. Light and small artworks can be mounted with heavy-duty adhesive or traceless hooks to avoid drilling. If drilling is unavoidable, mark positions accurately, use thin drill bits and limit drilling depth. Clean dust properly to minimize wall damage. Ordinary expansion bolts cannot be directly used on gypsum boards and light wall panels; special hollow wall anchors are necessary to prevent wall cracking.

Take protective measures in advance and prepare remedies afterwards. Stick masking tape around drilling spots to stop paint chipping during construction. Avoid hidden water and electric pipelines inside walls. When removing decorations, take off adhesives and hooks gently instead of pulling violently. Minor holes can be filled with wall putty to keep the wall intact.
